The Appalachian Plateau is the smallest of all of all regions. It includes only Dade and part of Walker County in extreme northwest Georgia. The Plataeu consists of narrow valleys and wooded, rocky ridges. Appalachian Plateau also includes Lookout Mountain. It is called Lookout Mountain on one side, and Sand Mountain on the other. This plateau consists of limestone caves, deep canyons, and interesting rock formations. Even though this is the smallest region, it is very important because of it's source of fossil fuel.
